This is the ninth title in Northern Eye Books’ beautifully designed Top 10 Walks series of themed guides to the Lake District. As well as being truly pocket-sized, these neat and eye-catching books all feature a very high standard of photography as well as clear, numbered route descriptions corresponding with annotated Ordnance Survey map extracts.

Literary Walks features 10 routes that have links with two of the writers most closely associated with the Lake District: William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. On the first five walks, readers are invited to walk in the footsteps of the great Romantic poet and experience first-hand some of the beautiful landscapes that inspired so much of his writing. The next five routes focus on locations associated with Beatrix Potter.

But you don’t have to be a literary fan to appreciate this book: covering every corner of the Lake District, it leads the visitor into some of the most spectacular scenery the national park has to offer. Walks range in length from 2½ to 4 miles, making them ideal for families.
